LinkedIn:

  • Boolean Searches on LinkedIn:

    • Use modifiers for more targeted results

    • Quotes, parenthesis, AND, OR

  • Take a skills quiz on the LinkedIn learning page to boost your skills section

    • 70% of professionals believe “verified skills are more important than college education”

    • 76% felt ability to “verify skills would help them stand out amongst other candidates”

Resume/Cover Letter:

  • Numbers matter!

    • Quantify your accomplishments & impact on your resume

    • Add numbers that have to do with the range, frequency and scale of tasks within your role


  • Try to integrate words/skills/adjectives listed in the job description into your cover letter!

Interviews:

  • Video Interviews:

    • Look at the camera, not the screen

    • Put your laptop on Do Not Disturb

    • Have your headphones ready! – You never know when your speakers might not work

    • Dress to impress, (but not to distract!)


  • Phone Interview:

    • Place a mirror in front of you during your call so you feel like you are talking to another person
